Thursday, April 15, 2010, San Manuel Indian Bingo & Casino is pleased to welcome to the San Manuel stage the electronic hits of Freestyle Festival Volume II including Exposé, The Cover Girls, Trinere, Johnny O, and Cynthia. Exposé
Exposé members Jeanette Jurado, Gioia Bruno, and Ann Curless, were at the forefront of a new era of Freestyle, 80’s Dance, Dance/Pop music with the release of their first two singles "Point of No Return" and "Exposed To Love". The era, better known as "The Miami Sound", propelled the trio to release their debut album, "Exposure", which went multi-platinum in 1986.
Their biggest hit occurred in the winter of 1988 with the single "Seasons Change," along with that came a Soul Train Award nomination for Best New Artist, appearances on Solid Gold, and Showtime At The Apollo, and a chance to serveas the opening act for Lisa Lisa and Cult Jam during their tour. In 1992, the group released their self-titled album, which included U.S. Top 40 pop chart hits , "I Wish the Phone Would Ring" and "I’ll Never Get Over You (Getting Over Me)".
The Cover Girls
The Cover Girls, of the late 80’s and early 90’s, are a classic pop/dance group, whose glamour and beauty combined with musical talent that made them one of the most successful female groups of their time. The group released four albums, sold over three-million records, charted 11 singles in a row on Billboard’s Hot 100 singles chart, and enjoyed success all over the world.
The group’s first single "Show Me," went gold, sold over 500,000 records, landed on the Top 40 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, and reached the number two position on the Billboard Dance Chart. Other chart toppers include "Because of You," "Inside Outside," "Promise Me" and "Spring Love".
Trinere
Dance freestyle and Electro/Hip Hop artist, Trinere claims to have created "The Miami Sound" with her producer Tony Butler, better known as Pretty Tony. Her dynamic voice, striking beauty, and ability to captivate an audience with her energetic presence and dance moves, led to her success.
With her first single "All Night" as an instant classic, she followed it with "How Can We Be Wrong" and "Can’t Get Enough". Major success came through her label, Pandisc that helped release her biggest hit "Can’t Stop The Beat".
Johnny O
Freestyle music singer, Johnny O has released eight albums over the span of nearly 20 years. His most successful album was his self-titled album in 1988, which produced popular hits like "Fantasy Girl," "Highways of Love," and "Memories". In 2007, he released a Christian album titled "Peace on Earth 2010", which featured a variety of different types of dance songs.
Cynthia
Born in Spanish Harlem, as a child attached to music, Cynthia sought inspiration from legend Donna Summer and disco star France Joli. It was in the late 80’s and early 90’s, she emerged as the Queen of the Latin Hip-Hop/Freestyle genre. Her debut and namesake album produced three hit singles, including the most famous, "Endless Nights". Her other hits include "Change on Me," "Thief of Hearts," and "Dream Boy Dream Girl".
Every Thursday night with headliner entertainment, San Manuel gives away $1,000 just for seeing the show. To be eligible to win, guests only need a ticket to the show, a Club Serrano card and to be 21 or older. Guests can enter beginning at noon on such days. Three drawings will be held on those nights: $250 at 7:20 p.m., $250 at 10:00 p.m. and $500 at 11:00 p.m. Winners must be present.
Note: Doors open at 6:30. A 21-and-older age requirement to enter the Casino is strictly enforced.
