The Pasadena Unified School District’s (PUSD) stellar young musicians will demonstrate their talent at the second of two All District Music Festivals this spring on Wednesday, April 7, at 7 p.m. at the Pasadena High School auditorium. This annual event provides a first-class performance opportunity for student musicians to broaden their experience and prepare them for advanced musical training. Prominent area music professionals will be on hand to serve as guest conductors.
Musicians representing all PUSD elementary, middle and high school campuses will present a Middle and High School String Orchestra, and choral ensembles from all grade levels, including a mass choir at the end. Featured conductors include PUSD instrumental music staff: Gayle Bluemel and David Pitts. Guest conductors include Jeffrey Bernstein, Artistic Director of the Pasadena and Hollywood Master Chorales and assistant conductor of the Pasadena Symphony, and Samvel Chilingarian, Artistic Director and conductor of the Verdugo Youth Orchestra and the VYMA Music Project at Longfellow Elementary, an El Sistema inspired program in Pasadena Unified.
The concert is free to the public.
