The Friends of Arts Education at the Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts is pleased to offer two special public performances of Asian Treasure Bag - FREE OF CHARGE - on Monday, April 5 at 9:30 AM and 11:30 AM. Reservations are required. Please call 562.916.1296.
Created by the internationally renowned storytellers Eth-Noh-Tec, and designed for children in grades K - 5, Asian Treasure Bag is a potpourri of myths and folk tales drawn from the Asian world and told through choreographed storytelling. Ancient metaphors meet modern messages through dramatic interpretations of time-held stories.
Eth-Noh-Tecs repertoire of Chinese, Japanese, Filipino, Korean, Indian and Tibetan stories (to name just a sample of cultures represented) introduces heroines and rogues, foolish monkeys, and wise old women. Through classic plotlines and characters, audiences young and old are reminded of timeless wisdom: good is rewarded, evil is punished, wisdom prevails over cleverness, and one must listen to the muses for advice.
The Friends of Arts Education at the Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts is a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing education through high quality performing arts experiences. To find out more about the Friends, please visit www.friendsofaecc.com .
