Make-A-Wish beneift walk May 15 in El Segundo

The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Greater Los Angeles invites everyone with a wish in his or her heart to help raise funds to grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy at the third annual Walk for Wishes.

Experience the joy of a two-mile morning walk on Saturday, May 15, 2010, beginning at Mattel in El Segundo. Check-in for the event is at 7:30 a.m.; the walk begins at 9 a.m.; and delicious food, music and entertainment including a Hot Wheels® race track, bounce house, face painting and more will be provided until 1 p.m.

“We are thrilled that Mattel has graciously offered to host this year’s Walk for Wishes, and we are looking forward to a successful event. Last year, we raised $235,000 to help us grant wishes. This year, our sights are set on raising $500,000 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Greater Los Angeles so we can continue to bring hope, strength and joy to so many children.” – Tessa Bowser, Director of Development and Communications

Registration for the walk is $25 per person and participants are asked to commit to raising a minimum of $75 toward the Foundation’s wish-granting efforts. Supporters can register individually or form a team with a minimum of four people. Businesses, schools, as well as families and groups of friends are encouraged to create teams to spread the enthusiasm for making wishes come true. Prizes will be awarded for the top three fundraising teams and individuals.

Online registration and sponsorship opportunities are available at www.wishla.org/walk, or by contacting Tessa Bowser, Director of Development and Communications at (310) 788-9494 or via email at tbowser@wishla.org.
