"Dogora" to release on DVD

Patrice Leconte’s internationally acclaimed documentary DOGORA will debut on DVD for the first time ever on April 27, 2010 from Severin Films. This Oscar®-nominated writer/director currently has three of his films in development as re-makes by Hollywood studios. DOGORA features a symphony/choir score by French composer Etienne Perruchon presented in 5.1 DTS Surround Sound, with Bonus Features that include Part Three of an exclusive career-spanning interview with Leconte. The first two parts of the interview appear on Severin’s recent DVD releases of Leconte’s THE HAIRDRESSER’S HUSBAND and PERFUME OF YVONNE.

“Patrice Leconte is addictive,” wrote avowed fan Roger Ebert. “His films cannot be classified according to any known system of categories, which is why they keep you delighted and curious.” Best known for such international box-office hits such as RIDICULE, GIRL ON THE BRIDGE, MAN ON THE TRAIN and MONSIEUR HIRE, Leconte was inspired to make DOGORA, a documentary about Cambodia, during a visit there and the result became a sound and image voyage through a land and its people that DVD Times hails as “Stunning...bursting with color, light and movement in the tradition of KOYAANIQUATSI and BARAKA.” From the city streets to rural villages, from factories to farmlands and beyond, Leconte explores the men, women and children of this ever-surprising Southeast Asia nation at work, play and peace, all moving at the speed of life.

Patrice Leconte’s DOGORA will debut on DVD and Blu Ray on April 27, 2010 from Severin Films.
