"Taste of the Village" in Glendora June 2

Glendora Village has become a destination for fine dining where visitors enjoy a wide variety of cuisines and tastes. There’s Italian, Vietnamese, Mexican, Californian, fine wines, saucy barbecue, hard-to-resist sweets and much more.

Now food lovers can savor it all during a summer night stroll on Wednesday, June 2, from 5 to 9 p.m., at the Village’s annual “Taste of the Village” for just $25. Tickets are available from any Village merchant or businessperson and online at http://bidtasteofthevillage.eventbrite.com. For more information, call Carol Harrell at the Village Kitchen Shoppe, (626) 914-7897.

“Our first ‘Taste’ last year was so successful in introducing all the fine cuisine the Village offers,” said Gary Andrews, president of the Glendora Village Business Improvement District board. “Many families discovered the Village is a great place for whatever they want – breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, anything and it’s a welcome spot for visiting with friends. “Also, several new restaurants have opened since last year’s event, and we’re thrilled to have them join all the ‘Taste’ fun.”

Visitors will literally enjoy all courses of a meal at “Taste of the Village,” thanks to offerings planned by participating restaurants.

They can start with a first course of appetizers and champagne at the Village Kitchen Shoppe and a wild mushroom sauté on a toasted baguette topped by sliced parmesan at The Parlour. Other first course possibilities are egg rolls at Mylein’s Vietnamese and Chinese chicken salad at The Village Eatery.

Main course choices are just as enticing.

Domenico’s Jr. is offering pasta Alfredo with chicken and broccoli, salad, two kinds of hand-tossed and thin-crust pizzas with pepperoni or cheese. Frisella’s Roastery is serving barbecue pork along with a roll so guests can make their own sandwich, and will include its signature homemade potato chips and a drink. Guests will enjoy potato tacos and fruit salad at Pico de Gallo. T. Phillips Alehouse and Grill is serving chicken satay skewers with Thai peanut sauce.

To satisfy that sweet tooth after so much savory fare, Classic Coffee is serving 6 oz. vanilla lattes and 2 oz. gelatos. Martha’s Candies is offering slices of gourmet candy apples.

Not only will “Taste of the Village” showcase tasty fare, but fine music, too, as many talented performers play throughout the evening at each restaurant. They include The Acoustic Brothers at the Village Kitchen Shoppe, blues and jazz musician Kristina Keener at Myliens, blues guitar master Stan West at Frisella’s Roastery, Bobby Figueroa and Corazon Pacifico at Pico De Gallo, blues-rock guitarist singer David Childers and friends at The Village Eatery, Francis Schulte at T. Phillips, bluegrass band Two Frets Lower at Dominos Pizza, Bassman at Martha’s Candies, Seth Greenburg at The Parlour and guitarist Chris Burgan at Classic Coffee/Domenico’s Jr.

Thank you Paul. Yes, I received the release early and haven't heard a peep more. And no bluegrass! Well, you'll just have to keep sharing all the other great places we can catch 2 Frets Lower in action!

Keep on rockin'
