“Elf” is coming home for the holidays. The holiday comedy will be shown on the big screen on Saturday, December 18, 10:30 am at Laemmle Playhouse 7 Theatres, 673 E. Colorado Blvd., Pasadena. The free movie screening is part of the Playhouse District’s annual Merry Merry Movie event that features the free movie screening and holiday concert. The family-friendly event is free and all-ages are welcome.
Following the movie screening there will be a holiday concert by the St. Lucy’s Big Christmas Band at the Vroman’s courtyard. The St. Lucy’s Big Christmas Band is comprised of professional musicians, music teachers, and recording artists who come together once a year to play during the holiday season.
“The Playhouse District Association is anticipating a big crowd which will enjoy a movie, music and lots of merriment. There will be treats and a special guest appearance by Santa Claus,” says Playhouse District Association Executive Director, Erlinda Romo.
The 2003 holiday comedy, “Elf” starring Will Ferrell is a story about innocence and holiday cheer. The story chronicles Ferrell’s life as a human child being raised by elves in the North Pole. As an adult he leaves the North Pole for New York City on a quest to find his family. In his journey he discovers his identity and much more. The film was adapted to a musical and made its Broadway debut this year.
In addition, the District will also host a holiday concert on Friday, December 10th, 7 pm at the Vroman’s courtyard. A children’s school choir will be singing the holiday favorites.
We hope that you will join us this holiday season at our 4th annual Merry Merry Movie.
