Charles Fox booksigning in Pasadena Dec. 3

Scarecrow Press proudly announces that after the success of Emmy & Grammy winner Charles Fox's memoirs, "Killing Me Softly: My Life in Music," it will be released in trade paper on Oct 1st, 2011, prior to his 16 city promotional tour, signing the book and singing his songs including: Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, Sarasota, D.C., San Gabriel/Pomona, San Diego, Houston, Palo Alto, Naples, Richmond, New York, Atlanta, Honolulu, Santa Monica, Chicago, as well as a featured author at the Los Angeles Library's Annual Literary Private Gala and more.

Having composed for more than 100 motion picture and iconic television scores, the twice Academy Award nominated, two-time Emmy and Grammy winning composer and Songwriters, Smithsonian and Bronx Hall of Fame inductee has written “Killing Me Softly: My Life in Music” with a foreword by Roberta Flack that details a legacy of music working with some of the greatest names in entertainment, film, television, and records. Last year, President Obama announced that one of his favorite songs was The Fugees 1996 recording of "Killing Me Softly." In the book, Fox recounts his studies under the tutelage of the most renowned music composition teacher of the 20th century, Nadia Boulanger, whose influence Fox carried throughout his entire professional career.

This year the Smithsonian Institute requested his, and the only, copy of the "Happy Days" record used in the opening scene of the hit TV Series to be inducted into the archive as part of the newly created permanent Entertainment History Exhibit. It is the composers hope and understanding that the record and music will be put on display with the one of the publics favorite items - Fonzie's Jacket.
