Singer launches Fashion Fantasy Game and contest for teens

The fashion industry is one of the most powerful and culturally influential industries around the world—and young boys and girls everywhere have their sights on breaking into it! SINGER® brand recently celebrated 160 years of inspiring sewers and today they have their sights on exploring new ways to help spur this interest.

To this end, SINGER, along with Simplicity Patterns, today announced a new partnership with Fashion Fantasy Game, an online fashion game geared towards teens which allows them to both design and sell clothing in a virtual world. By creating online experiences with brands, companies and products, youth can flex both their creative and business muscles through a socially interactive platform—it also allows them to experience how easy sewing actually is! SINGER hopes especially that this will encourage those who may be intimidated by the craft to give it a go! They’re also hosting a Sew Your Own contest: www.fashionfantasygame.com/sew

The company has been involved over the years in a number of ways—from supporting fashion designers like Season 5 Project Runway winner Leanne Marshall and 11 year-old prodigy Cecilia Cassini to its involvement in shows such as Lifetime’s 24 Hour Catwalk hosted by Alexa Chung and Mad Fashion with Project Runway favorite Chris March. SINGER has also offered CFDA/Teen Vogue scholarships to budding designers and has partnered with BurdaStyle on important initiatives like the launch of its new style handbook, SINGER’s tentacles are woven deeply throughout the entire industry in an effort to help people experience the joy of sewing!
