Barry Adamson to release 10th solo album

The legendary Barry Adamson (The Bad Seeds, Magazine) is releasing his 10th solo studio album, I Will Set You Free, via Central Control on February 14th, and today he’s sharing the Mush remix of the lead single, “Destination,” which gives the roaring garage rock anthem
even more of a kick, complete with sweeping synths on top of Adamson’s signature fuzzed out bass and guitar work. You can also still grab the album version of “Destination” via Barry’s official site, and check out its visually stunning video!

34 years after the first album he played on (the seminal Magazine's post-punk classic Real Life), Barry has made an album that touches on the sonic stepping stones he's used year by year to pave his way to the present. The memories and experience from performing and taking his work across the world with Magazine, the Bad Seeds, Iggy Pop, The Gun Club really come to life on the album.

Adamson has also written for David Lynch and Danny Boyle, and was nominated for the Mercury Prize in 1992. He returned to grace the stage with a reformed Magazine during their triumphant 2009 tour. All this has directly influenced I Will Set You Free, coloring it with a steady, sure-handed experience that emanates from the fingertip fire of rock numbers to emotive, yearning noir ballads and new wave inflicted power pop.
