Singer, songwriter Alex Young started out as a regular on Sesame Street, then shocked the music scene with the release of her debut album “Amazing” and is now back with her NEW single “Don’t Play with Me”, available on iTunes. This young artist on the rise has just premiered her NEW music video for this hot, new pop-dance-soul track, which is the first single off her upcoming, new EP being released in Spring 2012.
Alex’s new music video for “Don’t Play with Me” was shot in New York City in October and was choreographed by Sheryl Murakami, who was excited to work with the rising star and is a legendary choreographer in the music industry having worked with artists such as Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Avril Lavigne, Pharell, Nelly Furtado, Diddy, and Thalia to name a few. Sheryl also recently won an MTV VMA for choreographing Beyonce's "Run The World" (Girls) video.

Additionally, Alex will be opening for Grammy Award Winning artist Cee Lo Green on December 28th at 8 PM in St. Petersburg, FL at the Mahaffey Theater. That night, Alex will premiere her new live show, which will start running in 2012 leading up to the release of her new EP. Alex’s new live show is being developed by Lady Gaga’s Music Director Kern Brantley, and her 2012 tour dates will be announced at the top of the new year.
The overall theme and goal for Alex Young’s new music is to “revive and contemporize the lost art of glamour” and you will see this carefully woven into everything from her wardrobe choices within the new music video to the fresh album artwork shot by photographer Claire Rosen and definitely hear it in her sexy yet, female-empowering lyrics and soul-pop beats that will make you move.
Apart from Alex’s new music, she is also focusing her time on her new fashion line, “A Young Rose”, which she recently launched and was a participating e-tailer this past Fashion’s Night Out in September during New York Fashion Week, where Alex created a lot of buzz as the blogs were calling her one of the top ten best dressed at the tents.
