Have yourself a merry little Christmas! Come to the Coffee Gallery, Yes Good St. Bob's house of tunes and share a night with the Salty Suites, Those young acoustic critters who love to play and sing for you. Will there be Christmas songs you ask? I imagine they may do a few but they will be playing and singing their originals and classics in one long set for you.! The Salty Suites, Chuck Hailes, Chelsea Williams and Oh yeah, Scott Gates return to the scene of the crime to play hard, sing sweet and rock long at the house of Java...

Scott Gates is as close to a musical prodigy on the mandolin as you will ever meet and now plays guitar with the same fire and brilliance. Having performed all over the country and with artists as varied as John McEuen, Nathan McEuen, Kenny Loggins, Steve Martin and the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and a virtual who's who of the bluegrass world, Scott is writing music on his own and is bringing many of these tunes to you. Scott appeared last year on the Ellen Show with Steve Martin, recorded with Kenny Loggins on his soon-to-be-released family album, was featured on the Cable TV show Justified with band mate Chuck and toured the US with Nathan McEuen.

Partner in this new venture, Chuck Hailes, is one of the top bass players in the country, schooled in classical and jazz bass playing and techniques. Chuck writes his own music and has teamed with Scott to create many new musical gems. With his background in bluegrass music, and degree in the Upright Bass, Chuck sings and plays in a way that is uniquely his own.

Chelsea Williams has been writing and performing her own music since she was 13 years old. Chelsea took the stage on her own by the age of 17, performing at clubs and coffee shops. While some of her early songs are still hits with her fans, she has continued to develop as a writer penning nearly 100 original songs to date. Chelsea currently makes her living by playing on the street for tips and selling a home-made demo, having sold thousands of CDs, one-by-one, simply on her own on the street. Her magnetic presence draws them in and her songs set the hook.

Come get an early start to the Holiday!

Uncle Bob needs a full house... This enables him to fill Cat stockings and buy presents for his numerous feline dependants.... And please bring both ears so we may fill them with music! Check out the Salty Suites on their Facebook page or at their web site www.saltysuites.com. This is a young band to be reckoned with and they are loving what they do, come spend an evening with us!

As an added holiday gift we have an opening act to end all opening acts! We are honored to have Sandy Ross play a set before us on this magical night. Guitarist-songwriter Sandy Ross has been entertaining audiences with her own special blend of contemporary folk and acoustic blues for more than four decades. During the ‘70s she had songs recorded by Kim Carnes and Anne Murray; during the ‘90s she toured the greater US doing syndicated radio shows, coffeehouse and bookstore performances. In 1996-1998 she made the FOLKDJ-L top 50 twice, and in 1999 two of Sandy’s CDs were incorporated into the Smithsonian Folkways catalog, in addition to the Fast Folk recordings she made for the two Los Angeles compilation albums. Said Sheri Stanley in Folk Music magazine, Sandy’s music will move you, sometimes to anger, sometimes to tears and sometimes to stomping your feet.? In 2005 Sandy wrote and compiled the book A Place Called the Bla-Bla CafĂ©, which is an insider’s look at Hollywood talent showcasing against the historically political backdrop of the 1970s. The book has received great reviews and accolades from indie book publishing organizations and readers’ websites, including a 2007 Independent Publishers Book Award (IPPY). For song samples of Sandy’s music, go to her MP3 page on amazon.com.

Sandy Ross is a veteran contemporary folk and acoustic blues coffee house performer of the late 60s, a Peter Yarrow new writer pick of the mid-70s, a Smithsonian/Folkways Fast Folk artist of the 80s/90s, and a 21st century troubadour who tours back and forth across the US accompanied by her conversion van, Cecil, and an old, but Internet-ready laptop computer.
