Cecil Castellucci's novels for young adults include First Day on Earth, Rose Sees Red, Beige, The Queen of Cool, and Boy Proof and a picture book Grandma's Gloves which won the California Book Award gold medal. She also wrote the graphic novels The PLAIN Janes and Janes in Love for DC Comics Minx line. She has had numerous short stories published in various places including Strange Horizons, Teeth, The Eternal Kiss, Geektastic (which she co-edited) and Interfictions 2. Her upcoming half prose / half graphic novel is called The Year of the Beasts will be out in May. Daniel Pyne's screenwriter credits include The Manchurian Candidate, Fracture, Any Given Sunday, and Miami Vice. He's also the author of the wildly successful noir novel, Twentynine Palms (which was also made into a feature film). His second novel, is a crime mystery set in Colorado about a burnt-out high school teacher who buys a gold mine off the internet and suddenly finds himself surrounded by an unwanted group of locals, wanting their part in his pipe dream.

Rick Lupert served for two years as a co-director of the Valley Contemporary Poets and has hosted the open mic. series Cobalt Café in Canoga Park since 1994. His poetry has appeared in numerous magazines and literary journals, including The Los Angeles Times, Rattle, Chiron Review, Zuzu's Petals and others. He edited the anthologies A Poet's Haggadah: Passover through the Eyes of Poets and The Night Goes on All Night - Noir Inspired Poetry, and is the author of thirteen books.

Joan Kelly grew up in the South Bay area of L.A. and got her bachelor's degree at Antioch University in her thirties after dropping out of UC Santa Cruz in her twenties, and keeps her weird Hello Kitty shit to herself.

Rena Durrant is a seasoned trial attorney and is twice published in the Loyola of Los Angeles Law Review. She also has been heavily involved in the L.A. art scene for the past decade curating and promoting collaborative film, music, and dance events. This will be her first public reading.

Paulene are an acoustic indie-folk duo from Los Angeles composed of Paul Christensen and Arlene Deradoorian. ..
