James Reams & the Barnstormers in Altadena March 21

James Reams & The Barnstormers, a bluegrass band that was nominated by the International Bluegrass Music Association in 2003 as Emerging Artist of the Year, will be appearing for one night only, March 21, at 8pm at The Coffee Gallery Backstage at 2029 N. Lake in Altadena, CA (www.coffeegallery.com/showsat ). This is a rare opportunity to see this long-established iconic bluegrass band in an intimate setting. Legendary bluegrass fiddler, Blaine Sprouse will be a featured musician.

Having recently relocated to the Phoenix area, James Reams & the Barnstormers are seeking to bring their brand of bluegrass to selected venues in the southwest. The band will be celebrating 20 years of playing Bluegrass music in 2013 with plans for a coast-to-coast celebration. Their latest CD, released 2011, is entitled One Foot in the Honky Tonk.

Raised in eastern Kentucky but now living in Phoenix, AZ, James Reams puts a layer of desert grit over a solid base of traditional bluegrass music. His band treads the terrain where bluegrass, old-time, classic country, honky tonk and rockabilly meet in the night to swap stories. These are the sounds of the hills and hollers combined with the sounds of factories and railroad yards and honky tonks.

The Coffee Gallery Backstage is located at 2029 N. Lake in Altadena, CA. The Backstage is a listening room with a fine sound system, good lights, comfortable seating and a killer atmosphere. Shows start at 8 pm. For directions checkout the Backstage website at www.coffeegallery.com.
