Human Nature launches contest for acapella groups

International pop sensation, HUMAN NATURE, is hosting an exciting national contest calling upon all a cappella groups to win a chance at an opening slot for their upcoming nationwide tour.

Human Nature started as four high school students in Sydney, Australia who formed a singing group that began as a tribute to their love of a cappella doo-wop and Motown. When Smokey Robinson first heard his a cappella version of his classic “Ooh Baby Baby,” he was not only blown away, but became a true fan of the group. Now, after logging in more than 600 performances in the last two years, Human Nature want to give young a cappella groups the chance of a lifetime.

From February 15th through March 6th, 2012, groups can submit their audition videos to www.humannaturelive.com/contest. Human Nature will then pick the top three submissions per tour stop and post their audition video on the Human Nature YouTube channel http://www.youtube.com/user/humannaturelv?feature=mhee. Fans, family and the public then determine who they want to open the show. The winners will be determined by the amount of “likes” or “thumbs up” they receive on the site. For a list of the cities and full contest rules, go to www.humannaturelive.com/contest.

With years of hard work, genuine talent and some luck, today, Human Nature is Australia’s leading pop vocal group, and one of the preeminent vocal harmony groups in the world. They have released nine albums (many containing their own original material), five of which went to No. 1 in their native continent, selling millions of records worldwide and garnering 23 platinum awards, 70 Top 40 hits and five Top 10 hits. The group has opened for Celine Dion and Michael Jackson in Europe and Australia. Their chart-topping Motown tribute, Reach Out, went five-times-platinum, attracting the attention of famed songwriter Smokey Robinson, who recorded his song “Get Ready” with them and presented them in an exclusive booking at Las Vegas’ Imperial Palace, where they have played six nights a week to sold-out crowds for the past two and a half years.

Their nationwide tour kicks off on March 24th in Detroit, the home of Motown in support of their new CD, THE MOTOWN RECORD, and DVD, HUMAN NATURE SINGS MOTOWN WITH SPECIAL GUEST SMOKEY ROBINSON.
