Dave Matthews Band to tour and working on new album

Dave Matthews Band returns to the road this summer with an extensive North American summer tour launching on May 18 at Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in Woodlands, TX. The group – which ranked as the biggest ticket seller worldwide of the past decade – took last year off from touring, so this will be its first outing since 2010.

The tour will feature numerous two-night stands, including visits at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center in Saratoga Springs, NY (June 8 & 9) and the Cruzan Amphitheatre in West Palm Beach, FL (July 20 & 21). The group will begin a West Coast run over Labor Day weekend with three nights (August 31, September 1 & 2) at The Gorge Amphitheatre in George, WA, where Dave Matthews Band has headlined 40 shows since 1997. See below for itinerary.

An online presale for members of the DMB Warehouse Fan Association will begin this Thursday, February 16, at 10:00 AM ET at www.warehouse.davematthewsband.com. Citi is the official credit card of the Dave Matthews Band 2012 Summer Tour. Citi cardmembers will have access to presale tickets beginning Monday, March 5, at 10:00 AM ET through Citi’s Private Pass Program. For complete presale details visit www.citiprivatepass.com. Tickets will go on sale to the general public on Friday, March 9. Please visit www.davematthewsband.com/#/tour for further information.

Dave Matthews Band recently went into the studio with Steve Lillywhite – who produced the band's first three studio albums, Under The Table And Dreaming, Crash and Before These Crowded Streets – to begin work on its forthcoming album, which will be released this year. Details on how to order the album will be announced soon. It will be the follow-up to the Platinum-certified Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King (RCA), which debuted at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 in 2009, making Dave Matthews Band one of only two groups in chart history to have five consecutive studio albums enter atop the chart. Dave Matthews Band – comprising Carter Beauford (drums), Stefan Lessard (bass), Dave Matthews (vocals, guitar) and Boyd Tinsley (violin) – has sold over 17 million tickets since its inception and a collective 37 million CDs and DVDs combined.
