Why Occupy art exhibit opens Feb. 9 in LA

The Recruiter Syndicate is releasing a second installment of their
multimedia art exhibit Why Occupy. The exhibit opens 6 p.m. Thursday,
February 9, 2012 at the Downtown Los Angeles Art Walk.

The Recruiter Syndicate is a collective of artists from Los Angeles,
CA. With a gallery space and the support of Stephen Zeigler, the Recruiter
Syndicate is showing up in force to take you even deeper into the
Occupy movement to ask the question "Why Occupy?"

The oppression and injustices prevalent in today's society have
inspired our artists to speak up, stand up and fight for their beliefs. The
Recruiter Syndicate and its artists are dedicated to bringing this
controversial display to the Downtown Los Angeles Art Walk.

Combining photographs, a media installation, video, sound, music and
paintings, the Recruiter Syndicate takes you inside the Occupy
movement. The multimedia exhibit will show you the face of the 99%. The
different mediums make the show accessible to people from different walks of
life and cultures.

Why Occupy will take place at 118 Winston St (second floor), in
Downtown Los Angeles. In addition to the opening night gala, the gallery is
open from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., February 10 and 11, and again from 1 p.m. to 5
p.m., February 16 through 18.
