Brooklyn-based electronic/dream pop duo Blue Foundation has announced the release of their new album, In My Mind I Am Free, which will see a release May 22nd through their own imprint, Dead People’s Choice Records. The band premiered the first free track from the album, “Lost” (feat. Sara Savery) earlier today over at Prefix Mag. The band also has a NYC show schedule on March 27th at Rockwood Music Hall Stage 2, with fellow collaborator Findlay Brown supporting.

Blue Foundation was founded in 2000 by producer/singer Tobias Wilner. Their most recent lineup consisted of Wilner (producer, multi-instrumentalist and vocalist) and Bo Rande (multi-instrumentalist). Best known for their songs “Eyes on Fire” (certified double platinum in the US) from the “Twilight Saga” and “Sweep” from Michael Mann's “Miami Vice,” the band released their first 7" via Moshi Moshi Records and their first, self-titled debut album was released shortly thereafter.

Wilner grew up in a broken home in Copenhagen, Denmark. When he was 17 he was forced to move from his home, and he spent the next 8 years he moving from one place to another, staying at friends’ places in London, and small artist spaces in Copenhagen. He made his living out of DJing and composing music for contemporary dance pieces and independent art films.

Over the past several years Blue Foundation has expanded their audience, embracing both the underground and the alternative mainstream. Along with the “Twilight Saga” and Miami Vice, Blue Foundation's music has been featured in major films such as "Twilight" "Miami Vice" and the TV series "The O.C.," "So You Think You Can Dance," "CSI:Miami," and "The Cleveland Show."
