LP to release album, on Jimmy Kimmel April 25

LP, who recently charmed audiences at SXSW with her exuberant live performances, is a new edition to the Warner Bros. Records family. The acclaimed vocalist and renowned songwriter will release her debut EP for WBR, a 5-song CD + DVD package, titled Into The Wild: Live At EastWest Studios, on April 24th. She will also make her network television debut on ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live! the following night on April 25th.

The Into The Wild: Live At EastWest Studios CD + DVD set is available for pre-order here now.
The EP, which was produced by Rob Cavallo and co-produced by Mike Elizondo and Julian Raymond, contains audio and video of the New York-born, Los Angeles-based artist performing five songs live at Hollywood's EastWest recording studio, which was transformed into an intimate venue for the occasion. "Into The Wild" will also be included on her full-length album due later this year. LP began attracting attention for "Into The Wild" when a snippet of the song was used in a Citibank commercial in which a female rock-climber reaches the summit while LP memorably sings "Somebody left the gate open," which became the focus for a subsequent CNN.Com piece.

An accomplished songwriter who has penned hits for Rihanna ("Cheers") Christina Aguilera ("Beautiful People") and many others, LP truly shines onstage, thanks to a free-flowing confidence honed through years of touring with her band, so it is fitting that her major-label debut is a live set. Cutting a striking image onstage, with a tiny frame topped off with a mop of Marc Bolan-esque curls and brandishing a ukulele, LP was one of SXSW 2012's breakout artists, earning critical praise each time she performed.

In addition, LP has just been named Martin Guitar's first-ever official female Ambassador. She will be the focus of an extensive advertorial campaign in conjunction with a ukulele custom-built exclusively for her by Martin Guitar. It is the first time the venerable instrument-maker has created such an instrument for a female artist.
