Awaken the Empire to tour

The alternative-electronica four-piece Awaken the Empire just announced they will set off on a national tour with Arizona metal outfit, Eyes Set To Kill. The tour will kick-off in Mesa, AZ on August 2nd. Awaken the Empire just released their new music video for "Rise and Fall" on MTV Buzzworthy and within hours became the #1 most commented, #1 most shared and peaked at #7 most viewed video on MTV.com! After releasing three new singles this year, Awaken the Empire has been compared to the likes of The Used and 30 Seconds to Mars, and has recently been featured by Hot Topic, Alternative Press Magazine, Westwood One, AOL Music, AMP Magazine, and Pure Volume. The band is thrilled to be teaming up with Eyes Set to Kill, a band they have admired and respected for years. Damien Lawson, lead singer and guitarist for Awaken the Empire, explains "It's an honor to be touring with a band that has had such longevity in this industry. We can't wait to get on the road with our friends in Eyes Set to Kill, and wake up the world."



In addition to frontman Lawson, Awaken the Empireis Jaymz Marcc (Bass), Daryl Falconer (Drums), and Shivan Somaratne (Guitar). Possessing a sound that lies somewhere between that of a movie score and an alternative-electronica band, Awaken the Empire brings a new perspective along with their new sound. Lawson explains, "The general theme behind our band is that of an underground movement to encourage people to follow their dreams at all costs." Lawson elaborates on the movie score vibe of the band's sound saying "If we were a movie it would be somewhere between Donnie Darko (dark, romantic, schizophrenic, sarcastic, funny, complex) and Inception (mysterious, powerful, hidden agenda, purposely confusing)."



Awaken the Empire's latest tracks were released earlier this year are a follow-up to their widely respected EP, "The Awakening". The band was honored to team up with famed producer, Erik Ron (Panic at the Disco, Versa Emerge, Get Scared) to create their newest tracks.



In early 2011, the band released the self-funded, self-produced EP "The Awakening" via iTunes accompanied by the self-produced video to the single "Know Your Place." In November 2011, the band released the video for "The Awakening" on AOL Music which was directed by the great Chad Michael Ward (Aiden, Combi-Christ). The video has received over 185,000 views on Youtube to date.
