Switchfoot announces fall tour

SWITCHFOOTwill launch an extensive fall tour on September 26th at Rams Head Live in Baltimore, MD. The run, featuring special guest Paper Route, will include shows at the Theatre of the Living Arts in Philadelphia, PA (10/2), Detroit's St. Andrews Hall (10/11) and Vinyl, the new music venue at the Hard Rock Café & Casino in Las Vegas (10/26 & 27). It will conclude on October 28th at City National Grove of Anaheim in Southern California. See below for itinerary.

"The Original,"the blazingly catchy third single from SWITCHFOOT'S latest album, Vice Verses, goes to Modern Rock radio in early September. It follows the album's Top 10 Modern Rock hits, "Dark Horses" and "Afterlife."

The GRAMMY®-winning band is featured in an all new episode of "Guitar Center Sessions" on DIRECTV, premiering tonight at 9 pm on channel 239 and in 3D on n3D. Fans can check out SWITCHFOOT performing one of its early hits - "Meant to Live" from 2003's multi-PlatinumThe Beautiful Letdown - in this preview of the episode:

"If it's possible to blow the roof off of an arena that has no roof, Switchfoot did just that Friday," said UT San Diego in a review of a recent show. "Their songs are more like reality checks than anything else...Lead singer Jon Foreman's raw, gritty voice pierces the conscience."

The 8th annual Switchfoot Bro-Am Presented By Hurley raised more than $200,000 for San Diego area chapters of StandUp for Kids, a national nonprofit volunteer outreach organization founded in San Diego that is dedicated to making a difference in the lives of at-risk, homeless and street kids (www.standupforkids.org ). Conceived by SWITCHFOOT as a way to give back to its hometown of San Diego, the weekend's festivities began with an auction night soiree and culminated with a surf contest/beach concert that drew over 12,000 people to Moonlight Beach in Encinitas, CA on June 16th. The Bro-Am has raised more than $700,000 for San Diego-based children's charities, including StandUp for Kids, since its inception in 2005.

The funds raised over the years have enabled the Oceanside chapter of StandUp for Kids to expand from a 600 square foot center to a 2500 square foot center. BroAm monies have helped supplement the organization's "Food Pack" support and have been instrumental in feeding over 18,000 kids in 2011 alone. The chapter has been able to send 10 kids to college and 200 kids home to be reunited with their families.

SWITCHFOOT - comprising Jon Foreman (vocals/guitar), Tim Foreman (bass), Chad Butler (drums), Jerome Fontamillas (keys/guitar) and Drew Shirley (guitar) - won a GRAMMY for 2009's Hello Hurricane. The band's follow-up album, Vice Verses, earned Billboard's praise for its "powerful, anthemic rockers" and was hailed by Relevant Magazine as SWITCHFOOT'S "most unique" album yet.
