Free admission, good fun, and invaluable garden advice, all rolled into one day: Put away your wallets, come on out to Descanso Gardens and "Get Dirty" on the third Tuesday of every month!
As a Los Angeles County-owned destination, Descanso Gardens is proud to offer free admission to guests on the third Tuesday of each month. Along with this opportunity to provide greater access to neighbors and friends from all over Los Angeles County, the Descanso Gardens Guild is introducing a new garden lecture series-also free of charge!-titled "Get Dirty."
Kicking off Tuesday, July 17, at 2p.m., join us for "Patio-Escapes," the first workshop of the "Get Dirty" series. This class will be taught by Descanso Gardens Director of Horticulture Brian Sullivan, who will demonstrate how to create small-scale gardens, "patio-escapes," gardens for tiny spaces and even vertical gardens that climb up the walls.
On Tuesday, Aug. 21, also at 2p.m., the fun continues with "Garden Whimsy." This program will show how to experiment with whimsical garden touches. Take a chance to spin some magic and add charm to your garden, taught by garden design guru Mike Brown.
And taking us into the fall months, "Get Dirty" presents "Vinaigrette Perfection" on Tuesday, Sept. 18, at 2p.m. This yummy class will make your cooking zing! Watch an herb growing demonstration and see a cooking demonstration by Café Descanso's very own Chef Chris Brodeur of the Patina Restaurant Group, Descanso's exclusive caterer.
Nothing is quite as much fun as a free Tuesday and the chance to "Get Dirty" at Descanso Gardens!
