Mad Men Cocktail Houre gals for dA Center for the Arts Aug. 4

The dA Center for the Arts is proud to announce our summer fundraiser, The Mad Men Cocktail Hour to be held Saturday, August 4, 2012 from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm. Tickets will be available at the dA beginning July 14th. Individual tickets are $20, and couples tickets are $35.

Setting the atmosphere for this 50’s inspired evening, newly elected dA Board Member Kate Thornton has opened up her fully restored mid-century home for this event. Attendees are encouraged to show off their finest 50’s cocktail attire. The evening will include appetizers, beverages, desserts, and cool jazz. The evening will also include raffles for authentic period jewelry and memorabilia.

Tucked away in the scenic hillside of Pomona’s Westmont neighborhood, Thornton’s house was designed by Cliff May. Built in 1954 it was one of the first modern tract homes built in California. This particular tract reflects post-war optimism, and invokes the carefree style of California living. Complete with authentic period interiors, this house is one of its kind that has been fully restored. Thornton’s home has been featured in many regional home tours.
