Today, Soundgarden announce their Winter 2013 North American tour dates including two-night engagements in New York City, Toronto, Chicago, San Francisco, Los Angeles and, for the first time since the band reunited with their surprise show at the Showbox, they will be playing 2 shows in their hometown of Seattle. Fan Clubpre-sales begin on Monday, November 12th and tickets go on-sale to the public starting on Friday, November 16th.
This is the first North American tour for Soundgarden showcasing their new album, King Animal, to be released on November 13 via Loma Vista/Republic Records. The band has been headlining and playing to sold out crowds since they got back together over two years ago to critical acclaim. The New York Times said, “After 14 years between tours, Soundgarden was back in full force, its paradigm intact. This is one reunited band that can pick up right where it left off.”
Soundgarden have also released a music video for “Been Away Too Long,” the first single from their new album King Animal today, available to watch on VEVO HERE. The video, directed by the bands' art director Josh Graham, was filmed in NYC at the iconic Abandon Palace. The band has also announced a commemorative poster art design contest for the tour, asking fans to use the album title as the theme to create a ferocious and primal design that embodies the untamed disposition of a "King Animal."
