The Almost readies debut release

TOOTH & NAIL ANNOUNCES JOINT VENTURE WITH VIRGIN RECORDS

AS THEY PREPARE FOR THE RELEASE OF“SOUTHERN WEATHER,” THE DEBUT ALBUM FROM THE ALMOST

Seattle independent label Tooth & Nail has announced they’ll partner with major label Virgin Records for the forthcoming debut album from THE ALMOST.

THE ALMOST--the brainchild of Underoath drummer/vocalist AARON GILLESPIE--will release their debut album SOUTHERN WEATHER April 3 via Tooth & Nail and Virgin Records. GILLESPIE--who sings and performs virtually every note and instrument on his solo debut--teamed with acclaimed producer Aaron Sprinkle for SOUTHERN WEATHER. It kicks off with the attention-grabbing, percussion-driven anthem "Say This Sooner," set to impact radio February 14.

Manager Randy Nichols (Red Light Management) states: “I couldn't be more excited to set this record up with some of the most talented, intelligent and good-looking people in the record business. It's not often that a band can get the best of both worlds. We have an unbelievable indie team at Tooth & Nail capable of selling records as well as most majors and then to have them complimented by the spectacular promotion and marketing team at Virgin/Capitol Music Group, it's a dream come true for any manager.”

Brandon Ebel, head of Tooth & Nail/Solid State/BEC recordings, explains, “We are incredibly excited about the release of Southern Weather. For some time now, Jason Flom and I have been looking for the right record to team up on, and we have found a perfect fit in The Almost. The band blends HIT song-writing with relevant, accessible rock. We really think this record will appeal to a wide variety of music fans, and we can hardly wait for it to hit stores.”

Jason Flom, head of Virgin Records and the newly formed Capitol Music Group, notes, “We couldn’t be more excited to be partnering with Tooth & Nail on one of the best new rock bands in a long time, The Almost. I have the utmost respect and admiration for Brandon Ebel and his team and…I LOVE THIS RECORD!”

Chad Johnson director of A&R for Tooth & Nail/Solid State Records adds, “Having worked with Aaron since he was 15, I'm very proud to see how much he's grown both personally and musically. He's delivered an album that is catchy, moving, and mature....all tightly woven in a debut effort. The relationship with Virgin has been a great experience thus far and I'm convinced that two teams working hand in hand will prove a winning combination.“
