Grammy nominees to be on Public Television

GRAMMY NOMINEES FEATURED IN PUBLIC TELEVISION MUSIC SPECIALS

American Public Television (APT), the second-leading distributor of programming to public television stations, announces music specials featuring five 2006 Grammy nominees. Five time Grammy nominee James Blunt teams up with Denver-based rock band, the Fray in a new concert special recorded live at the Seminole Hard Rock in Hollywood, Florida.

In LIVE FROM THE SEMINOLE HARD ROCK FEATURING JAMES BLUNT WITH SPECIAL GUESTS THE FRAY. Blunt performs nine songs from his acclaimed debut album Back to Bedlam, including the Billboard number one hit "You're Beautiful." The program also features The Fray, nominated for two Grammys, performing hit singles from their Gold-certified album How to Save a Life.

Go behind the scenes and take a look at the making of Tony Bennett's new Grammy nominated album, Duets: An American Classic. Barbra Streisand, Elton John, Bono, Sting, the Dixie Chicks, Stevie Wonder, Elvis Costello and other artists join Bennett live in the studio to record some of his biggest hits and favorite songs. TONY BENNETT DUETS: THE MAKING OF AN AMERICAN CLASSIC also celebrates the timeless singer's 80th birthday.

The Soweto Gospel Choir's recent album Blessed is Grammy nominated for Best Traditional World Music Album in 2006. From the churches and communities of South Africa, the Soweto Gospel Choir brings African culture into the homes of public television viewers with their special SOWETO GOSPEL CHOIR – LIVE IN CONCERT. Filmed during their 2005 Australian tour, the program features performances of popular songs such as Bob Marley's "One Love" and Peter Gabriel's "Biko." Between songs, members of the choir discuss the inspiration and meaning behind their songs.

Nominee for Best Jazz Vocal Album and named Billboard Magazine's number one jazz artist Diana Krall can be seen on American public television stations opening the 25th anniversary edition of the Montreal Jazz Festival on June 29, 2004. Krall and her quartet perform nine songs, most of which come from her latest album, The Girl in the Other Room. DIANA KRALL LIVE AT THE MONTREAL JAZZ FESTIVAL also includes covers from Mose Allison, Joni Mitchell, and Chris Smither.
