Atmosphere, the prolific duo of Slug and producer Ant are set to release their highly anticipated sixth official studio album When Life Gives You Lemons, You Paint That Shit Gold on April 22nd 2008. The acclaimed Minneapolis-based hip hop group have performed over 2000 shows and sold well over 1 million units worldwide as the flagship artist on the independent label Rhymesayers Entertainment.
There will be no advance promotional copies available, listening session dates are below. With the current state of the music industry, many labels, especially independents are scrambling to fight leaks and find a formula that keeps their records from leaking ahead of time. That said, while it’s unfortunate that Rhymesayers can't send each and everyone one of you an advance copy, we really hope you understand and work with us on this. We understand this is not ideal but the business is changing and we feel it necessary to protect the artists creation that keeps us all in business.

The book contains lyrics, album credits and a illustrated children’s story written by Slug. This limited package will also include a bonus DVD with over an hour of live footage and extras from the final shows of the Everybody Loves A Clown tour shot at First Avenue nightclub in Minneapolis, with Dolby 5.1 surround audio.
Atmosphere's last full-length, 2005's You Can't Imagine How Much Fun We're Having, propelled the group to performances on Late Night with Conan O'Brien and Jimmy Kimmel Live, as well as over 160 headlining shows in the U.S., Canada, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, and South Korea. The album debuted at #1 on the Billboard Indie Chart with 19,000 units sold during its first week of release, while maintaining on the ITunes U.S Hip Hop top 100 for 3 months.
In 2007 Slug and Ant further solidified their place as one of the most prolific and consistent groups in hip hop. Without a formal release Atmosphere released volumes 9, 10 and 11 of their limited Sad Clown series. Seasonal ep’s that left fans salivating for more. Billboard.com said of Sad Clown Bad Summer Number 9 and Sad Clown Bad Fall 10 - “Atmosphere is on a nice between-albums roll. The second consecutive reason to look forward to the full-length When Life Gives You Lemons...”. Feeling the holiday spirit Atmosphere then treated their fans to a free new full-length album via the web called Strictly Leakage on Christmas eve. Response was overwhelming with over 60,000 downloads in less than 2 weeks.
When Life Gives You Lemons, You Paint That Shit Gold, will mark Atmosphere’s most complete album to date. Recorded in the dead of Winter, and influenced by fatherhood, Slug’s storytelling and ant’s lush melodies have never been more poignant. Atmosphere will tour the U.S and Canada performing release parties in support of the new album in 15 cities beginning on April 22, 2008.
