Nineteenth Century Lieder: The Art Songs of Schubert, Schumann, Brahms and Wolf is a 10-week course exploring the special relationship between music and poetry as expressed in the German art song. The class is taught by noted musicologist Priscilla Pawlicki, who will also teach The History of Keyboard Music.
The classes, which begin April 1, are designed for adults who want to increase their knowledge of the rich history of Western music.
The History of Keyboard Music is offered on Tuesdays from 10 am to 12:15 PM.
Nineteenth Century Lieder is offered on Wednesdays from 7 to 9:15 PM.
Tuition for each class is $250.

Priscilla Pawlicki is the recipient of the 2007 UCLA Extension Distinguished Teacher Award and chair of the the Theory, History & Composition Department at the Pasadena Conservatory of Music. She is a veteran faculty member of UCLA Extension, where she teaches music history and theory.
