Pennywise's latest available for free download

PENNYWISE is on the cusp of experiencing the fastest-growing single of their career.

As the iconic punk band prepares for the March 25 release of their ninth studio album, REASON TO BELIEVE (MySpace Records), their first single “The Western World” is garnering major early adds at radio, including same-day adds and top phones at: Las Vegas’ KXTE, San Francisco’s LIVE 105, Seattle’s KNDD and San Diego’s 91X. In its first official week at radio, “The Western World” debuts on the charts as the #1 “Greatest Gainer” at #34 and ranked #15 in total audience. Although “The Western World” has been at radio for only a week, the velocity with which stations have been adding and bumping the single into major rotation suggests that it’s on track to be one of the quickest moving singles of the year. Look for PENNYWISE to shortly announce performances at radio multi-act shows.

In the digital world, in just six weeks, 350,000 people have already signed up to participate in the free download on MySpace.com in partnership with Textango. On March 25, fans worldwide will be able to download a high-quality, DRM-free, MP3 full version of REASON TO BELIEVE from MySpace for a period of two weeks for absolutely no cost. This collaboration between PENNYWISE, their new label MySpace Records, MySpace.com and Textango (provider of creative solutions for distributing music via text messaging) sets a music industry precedent.

To download the free, 320kbps version of the album, users simply have to add promotional partner Textango (myspace.com/textango) as a MySpace friend on their MySpace page (anyone can create a MySpace account for free) anytime before April 7, 2008. Users who have added the profile before March 25 will all receive the album in their MySpace inbox on March 25; users who add the profile between March 25 and April 7 will receive the download soon after adding Textango as a friend.
