DJ Lee Burridge and more at Puff in Vegas this weekend

May 23, 2008, the heat is rising this Memorial Weekend with "Up and Smoke" afterhours at PUFF Nightclub. Prominent international DJ Lee Burridge kicks off the heat wave Friday night and temperature will continue to climb through Sunday night with special guest performances by Faarsheed on Saturday and Dubfire on Sunday.

Lee Burridge became one of England's more acknowledged house DJs in the early 2000's thanks to his residency at Fabric, one of London's leading clubs. Prior to Fabric, Burridge spent the majority of the '90s in Hong Kong, where he honed his skills. During the '90s he spun at most of Hong Kong's premier clubs and also made contacts with visiting DJs such as Sasha and Craig Richards. In addition, he performed at a number of Thailand's famous "Full Moon Parties" in Ko Pha Ngan. By the end of the '90s, Burridge moved back to England and was ready to establish himself as a premier DJ. There he joined forces with Richards and set up their imperious residency at Fabric.

Burridge garnered attention with his unexpected mix of house and break beats - two juxtaposing styles of dance music that he carefully balanced during his sets. In 1999 he released his first mix album, "Metropolis" on Tide Records, followed by a volume in Boxed Records "Global Underground" set: "nubreed" series, summer 2001.

Oscar Molina will perform the evening's opening set Friday night. Molina's style of music is dark, sexy, and progressive mixed with dirty techy-electro. This style has become a force within the nightclub scene and is now one of the themes to the Vegas nightlife. Molina is an established Las Vegas artist and is sure to satisfy the crowd with the mix he brings to the dance floor.

Faarsheed was stated by Neil Moffit (Godskitchen, Inc.) as "the DJ to look out for. Faarsheed has proven to be a solid fixture in the dance music world. He has been playing alongside the biggest and best DJ's from across the globe for years.

In 2001, he began playing major events with promoter "Spundae" in Los Angeles and Las Vegas. Later, he worked his way up to become part of the prestigious Godskitchen and ICE family, and a permanent fixture as a Godskitchen/Ice resident in Las Vegas. In 2006 when ICE closed, Faarsheed began taking his show on the road touring most of the major cities throughout North & Central America. His style is unique & hard to pinpoint or label, but you can count on hearing a bit of deep, sexy, twisted, emotional, baseline & musically driven progressive tech & acid sounds including many of his own original productions & remixes, which are now seeing long awaited release dates.

Josh Abrams will perform the opening set on Saturday. Abrams's seamless, creative mixing and impeccable track selection has charmed feverish crowds around the world with a signature high-energy, bash attitude.

Ali "Dubfire" Shirazinia--one half of the Grammy Award winning and four-time nominated electronic music duo "Deep Dish" will perform Sunday night. "Deep Dish" rose to prominence following the 1998 release of their groundbreaking debut Album "Junk Science". Since then, he and musical partner Sharam Tayebi have manned the turntables for many of the world's top clubs and have created high-profile remixes for such artists as Madonna, P Diddy, Dido, The Rolling Stones, Brother Brown, and Justin Timberlake, just to name a few. It was their take on Didi's "Thank You" that landed the two their first Grammy win in 2002.

"Deep Dish" has become one of the most revered names in the genre. Their plate is filled with a long-awaited new artist album on deck for release; 100-plus DJ gigs a year from Los Angeles to Lebanon; a flourishing business in D.C. consisting of three record labels ("Yoshitoshi Recordings", "Shinichi Records", "YO!") and a DJ agency, "Bullitt Bookings".

While taking a creative break from Deep Dish (as he and Sharam both pursue individual projects), Dubfire has moved onto a different trajectory, but one that's very much in keeping with a music obsessive whose record collection spans punk, industrial/new wave, jazz, dub, hip-hop, house, and techno. The aforementioned mix of influences is no more evident than on his single 'I Feel Speed' -- a cover of an overlooked Love & Rockets song - with Dubfire on vocal duty.

A substantial nod to his musical beginnings, 'I Feel Speed' is further proof that artistically, Dubfire isn't afraid to push boundaries, something for which he's been increasingly heralded in 2007. Early that year he joined forces with Global Underground for the April 10 release of his first solo mix album "Dubfire GU31 - Taipei". The 2-CD mix set is a sweeping change from anything you would have previously expected to hear from the "Deep Dish" member and it features the finest in house, electro, techno, and even industrial music. It has been fourteen years since the duo first met in DC.

Over the years, the prolific duo have released a number of genre-defining mixed CDs and have become two of the most in demand artists in the business. Along with numerous awards "Deep Dish" also ranked number one in the "Best Progressive DJ" category of BPM Magazine's 2006 "America's Favorite DJ's" poll.

The opening set on Sunday is by "smashBOX" who pumps new energy into the commercial house scene with his underground style of "tribal-tech house".
