This is a great chance to get acquainted with them at one of the best clubs in Los Angeles as the South Ausitn Jug Band will be playing at The Strawberry Festival in Yosemite, Wakarusa, and Austin City Limits Festival this year! They’re getting airplay here in Austin on KGSR – one of the best stations ever! Something kinda fun... they do a cover of Beck's song "Jackass." Beck does that song with a musicial loop (Van Morrison doing "Its All Over Now, Baby Blue") and some electric guitar. These boys play that loop live with acoustic instruments. Come get a sneak peak of Greta’s new album Whiskey Thoughts... Calling it her “hippie country, kick-ass southern rock record,” singer/songwriter Greta Gaines returned to her beloved Nashville to make Whiskey Thoughts, to be released July 29th on Justice Records. Invited by producer and friend Randall Jamail (X, Mark Lanegan and Johnny Cash), Greta welcomed Raul Malo, Ian Moore, Kenny Vaughn, Bobbie Nelson and Willie Nelson into the studio with her, resulting in an album that burns dangerous and hot, ensnaring listeners in its hypnotic glow.

One part classic country, one part rootsy blues, and one part solid rock, Whiskey Thoughts is a lot like the fascinating and multifarious life Gaines has lived. A former world champion snowboarder, Greta held a series of day jobs to pay for her music career like most aspiring musicians have in the early days of their careers. But these were no ordinary day jobs. She ran her own show on the Oxygen network, hosted the MTV Sports and Music Festival (and even did the theme song) and most recently gave America’s most popular fishing haunts a workout on her ESPN2 show “Basscenter” (yes, she’s an accomplished fisherwoman, too). Yep, Greta’s got it goin’ on....
