Five Acres “Swingin’ on a Star—Creole-style” benefit has placed auction items online to allow for a unique early opportunity to bid on vacations, merchandise and memorabilia prior to the June 8 gala at One Colorado.
Those who log on to Five Acres website www.fiveacres.org and click on the SHOP4FIVE icon at the top of the home page will be able to select from dozens of exceptional auction items and get a preview of the live auction fare, including getaways to Cancun, Mexico; Beaver Creek, Colorado and New Orleans; VIP field level seats at Dodger Stadium and exquisite jewelry provided by Place Vendome.
Longo Toyota is providing the fuel efficient Prius for the grand prize raffle at the “Swingin’ on a Star” event. (The winner can opt for a $20,000 cash prize as an alternative.) Forms for the raffle can be found online at www.fiveacres.org.
Five Acres, based in Altadena/Pasadena, was founded in 1888 as one of Los Angeles’ earliest orphanages. The child and family services agency has evolved and now provides therapeutic prevention, treatment and education programs to strengthen families and prevent child abuse. Services include residential care and education, mental health services in homes and schools, deaf services, foster care and adoptions and domestic violence prevention. It serves more than 5,000 children and families throughout Southern California annually.
