Shimmy Showcase Sunday

Everyone is invited to come out, have a cup of Java, munch on something yummy and enjoy some really great dancing FOR FREE!

Below is our upcoming schedule for the next several Sundays at the Coffee Haven Internet Cafe in Long Beach. If you are a dancer interested in performing at an upcoming showcase, please check out the schedule below for open dates and then email us at

with the dates on which you'd like to perform.

The SHIMMY SHOWCASE begins at 7 p.m. at the COFFEE HAVEN in Long Beach (1708 E. Broadway -- 562-437-3785).

May 25: In honor of the holiday weekend, Shimmyshowcase is proud to bring back last year’s theme “In Memorium.” Abraiha, your coordinator, will be joined by Lizbet, Tracey, Maria Elena, and Siera for this very special performance in honor of Memorial Day.

June 1: Coordinator Katherine the Great brings you the Talisman Dance Company from San Diego, dancing to their own live music!. We’re still looking for dancers to comprise the second act of this show, so if you’d like to perform to your own music, please contact us at ShimmyShowcase@yahoogroups.com.

June 8: Coordinator Alexiis will perform dazzling renditions of American Tribal style dance for you this evening. Joining her will be the lovely Veronica, Estara and Yasmin. Whether you’re a tribal fan or cabaret fan, we’ll have great dancing in a variety of styles to entertain you!

June 15: NO SHOWCASE. Happy Fathers’ Day!

June 22: Katherine the Great is celebrating her birthday with dancers Gaea and Saphira. We still have an opening for another dancer to perform and, of course, hope many of our friends join us for this first Shimmyshowcase of the summer. Please allow time for parking to avoid missing any of the fun, so be sure to be at the coffee house well before 7:00 PM. We try not to start the show until everyone has settled with a tasty beverage.
