OC Songsalive! to offer workshop Sunday

WHAT: Orange County Songsalive! Songwriters Workshop
WHEN: Sunday, May 25, 2008, Last Sunday of every month
TIME: Starting promptly at 7:00 p.m., running until 9:00 p.m. (PST/PDT)
WHERE: Spires Restaurant (in the Meeting Room)13030 Goldenwest Avenue (corner of Garden Grove Blvd.), Westminster, CA 92683. Phone: 714-636-0442. Consider ordering dinner before or after the workshop!

Directions: Southwest corner of Goldenwest Avenue and Garden Grove Boulevard. Exit the Garden Grove (22) Freeway at “Knott Avenue”. WORKSHOP:
The first half is solely dedicated to an in-the-round workshop where writers present one song each - either on tape, CD or live - followed by a guest speaker/industry discussion in the second half and plenty of time to talk and network. Our workshops often feature guest speakers representing all facets of the industry from A&R, publishers, successful producers, CD production and distribution execs and, of course, writers and composer who share their ideas, tips & techniques on all aspects of the songwriting craft.

The workshops are open to all songwriters and music composers of all levels and music genres and you don't have to be a Songsalive! member to attend. It is usually best to register your attendance in advance.

Originally from Australia, Gilli Moon is a singer, songwriter, recording artist, pianist, actor, producer, author, painter, motivator, entrepreneur, visionary and empowering community builder. Her restless creativity and rebellious nature continually urge the artist to push the envelope in the studio, on stage and with whatever she touches. She has toured the world as an artist, released and produced several music albums, placed songs in films and tv shows, and has won copious songwriting awards. Gilli runs own record and publishing company, Warrior Girl Music, and is president of the largest internationalnon-profit songwriters organization, Songsalive! Her first book, I AM A Professional Artist, is based on her experiences in the music and general arts businesses as an artist and entrepreneur, and she has just wrapped up her second book "Just Get Out There". Gilli currently lives in Southern California.

HOST: Rodney S. O’Riley
Rod O'Riley is the writing and performing name of Rodney Dean Stansfield. RDS is a guitar salesperson by day, songwriter by night, and many other things in the hours in between. Rodney has been involved with Songsalive! since 2002. In 2007, he was honored to assist with the creation of the new Songsalive! chapter in Orange County, California.
