Jihae to perform in NYC & offer new digital release in July

Jihae's voice is melancholic but defiant. At times cynical, but always resolute. Her hypnotic rhythmsare seductive and her lyrics, subversively sentimental and knowing. The dynamics of her music carry each story and poem into a dreamworld, featuring daring arrangements on voice, guitar, cello, viola, bass, synth, drums, percussion and programmed beats. Jihae is the unique yet familiar sound of now.

Raves

"A delicate, soulful hybrid of many styles, Jihae's debut album My Heart is an Elephant betrays an unmistakably sophisticated arrangement sensibility at work, which Jihae applies to the songs in confident, subtle strokes." - New York Press

"The shimmering and sultry release weaves together Nico's lush longing with Fiona Apple's ferocity and self-awareness."- Venuszine

"Creative genius may be the perfect way to explain it all. Jihae's music has an original and brutally honest edge. It is almost as if each musical component, from her luring voice and unparalleled musical composition, to her lyrics which probe the internal intellect, have all simultaneously found each other to form this union of artistic venture." -Trace Magazine

"A croon with this kind of husky, lusty depth does its own PR. Surely drawn to vocals that cross Chrissie Hynde with Aimee Mann. Filmmaker Michel Gondry got in on this Jihae album. The result is a tidy sonic twists under a singer/songwriter's spirit." -Download.com

"Enthralling new album, boasting production work by Brent Arnold and Patrick McCarthy, and guest appearances by filmmaker Michel Gondry and Lenny Kravitz, shows a confident singer who is equally ethereal and down-to-earth." - Baebel Music

"Enjoy and be forewarned that Jihae is best experienced with a nice pair of headphones." -Side One Track One
