Background
Grand Prize Winner of the International Young Artist Peninsula Music Festival, fast-rising young Los Angeles Opera mezzo-soprano and actress Geeta Novotny and acclaimed tenor Christopher Campbell performed the leads in a concert version of Bizet's Carmen with the Roswell Symphony Orchestra (New Mexico), the Bakersfield Symphony Orchestra, and the Santa Maria Philharmonic. Geeta and Christopher will be joined by Los Angeles Opera baritone Roberto Gomez and Jacaranda, Mládí Chamber Orchestra, and Los Angeles Philharmonic flutist Pamela Vliek Martchev, who will perform the Seguidilla, the Act III interlude, and the Carmen Fantasy interspersed with dramatic settings of the Carmen arias. Los Angeles Opera collaborative pianist Victoria Kirsch will accompany the artists and provide the narrative.
