Slightly Stoopid walked away from last night's San Diego Music Awards with two top awards - Song of the Year for "2AM," and Album of the Year for "Chronchitis," released in 2007. "2AM" is currently #1 at San Diego's alt/rock station 91X, and one of the most played tracks at L.A.'s powerhouse KROQ-FM. Slightly Stoopid is known for its reggae/blues/psychedelic rock/hip-hop/punk music.
Slightly Stoopid's Ryan "RyMo" Moran, C-Money and De La represented the band at the awards.
"We appreciate this award and everyone who has supported us along the way here in San Diego, the greatest city to grow up in, " commented RyMo. "We have the the greatest fans a band could have, so this award is really for them."
Other San Diego-based nominees in the Song of the Year and Album of the Year categories included As I Lay Dying, Tristan Prettyman, and Grand Ole Party. The annual San Diego Music Awards recognize the best in local talent.
Slightly Stoopid's fall 2008 headline tour of North America kicks off on October 8, and is in support of the band's latest release, "Slightly Not Stoned Enough to Eat Breakfast Yet Stoopid." Dates are below.
