Let’s be honest about it, there are plenty of good reasons to become a musician. And one of them is surely to help you pick up girls!

Well, that’s exactly why Bobby E first picked up a trumpet and then switched his attentions to the piano. But, as the funky jazz man proves on his killer debut album, Just Before Day, it’s not just the girls who will be glad he took to music.

Bobby E has worked in music for over 20 successful years and is a Grammy nominated songwriter.

Now he has decided to strike out on his own as, in his own words, he was “tired of asking singers to sing for me or waiting on some great artist to cover one of my songs.” So he picked up the mic and started doing it for himself.

Combined with his amazing songwriting talent and excellence on the keys, it makes for one very special record.

Bobby began writing music through his love of gospel, and the compositions of Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie. He went on to use the influence of soul and funk legends such as Quincy Jones and Barry White as he honed his sound over the years.

Just Before Day is a testament to two decades writing and recording music of all shades, from gospel and pop to jazz and hip hop.

This CD has elements of all the music that make Bobby E the artist he is, but at heart, this is a smooth funky jazz record. It is a record perfectly made for relaxing on a drive on a Sunday afternoon with the top down (and preferably a couple of ladies by your side!).

From the contemplative Bring My Stuff Back to the sexy, silky ballad Love Looks Good On You and right on to the gospel inspired My Prayer, this album is a true masterpiece.

Bobby E says he wants his music to make the listener feel every human emotion. He shows on this record that you can do that without being loud or flashy, but just by writing great tunes.
Just Before Day is a record inspired by a love for music and made for music lovers. If that describes you, then it’s time to say hello to Bobby E.
