"Johnny Cash's America" to premiere Oct. 14

LOS ANGELES PREMIERE OF “JOHNNY CASH’S AMERICA”AT AMERICAN CINEMATHEQUE AT THE EGYPTIAN THEATRE ON OCTOBER 14

Film features interviews with Johnny Cash, Rosanne Cash, John Carter Cash, Al Gore, Bob Dylan, Sheryl Crow, Ozzy Osbourne, Snoop Dogg, Loretta Lynn, Merle Haggard and more

WHAT: Johnny Cash’s America is a journey through the life of the iconic Man in Black. They explore Cash’s many identities as a rebel, a patriot, a drug addict, a devout Christian, and of course, as “both the cowboy and the Indian.”

Featured are fascinating interviews with those who loved and were inspired by Cash, including his manager, producers, and longtime band members, as well as famous friends like Al Gore, Merle Haggard, and Bob Dylan. Neville and Gordon also offer rarely seen gems, like clips of the never-broadcast pilot for the Johnny Cash Show and rehearsal footage from Cash’s time with the Highwaymen.

This film is a first time partnership between the Cash Estate, SonyBMG’s Legacy Recordings, Executive Producer John Carter Cash and Award-winning filmmaking team Morgan Neville (Hank Williams: Honky Tonk Blues) and Robert Gordon (Muddy Waters Can’t Be Satisfied, with Morgan Neville).

The CD/DVD of Johnny Cash’s America will be release by Legacy Recordings on October 28th and air on the Bio Channel on October 23.
