UCLA virtuosi Ji Young An and Ivana Jasova (violin), Alison Spieth (viola), Rachel Sexton and Christopher Ahn (cello) and Daniel Fritzen (piano) celebrate Felix Mendelssohn’s 200th birthday (born February 3, 1809) performing Mendelssohn’s Piano Trio in C minor and Haydn’s String Quartet Opus 54 No.2. This program was made possible by a generous contribution from the Clarence E. Heller Foundation.

The Young Musicians Foundation Debut Orchestra with conductor Case Scaglione, Andrius Bernotatitis (clarinet) and Daria Somers (soprano) perform Copland: Clarinet Concerto (written for Benny Goodman), Mahler arr. Schonberg: Songs of a Wayfarer and Laura Karpman: presenting a new work (world premiere).

HAYDN CELEBRATION Concert 2
The second of a 10-part survey of Haydn’s keyboard works, presented during this Haydn bicentennial year in cooperation with the New England Conservatory of Music. The concerts, featuring selected New England prize-winners, were created by pianist Bruce Brubaker and culminate in Brubaker’s performance on the anniversary of Haydn’s passing, May 31st.
These concerts are funded by a generous grant from the Ralph M. Parsons Foundation.
