Fall Out Boy announces tour dates

Island Records act Fall Out Boy has announced the dates for the ‘Believers Never Die Part Deux’ tour, the band’s 2009 headline arena tour, kicking off April 3rd in Phoenix at Mesa Amphitheater. Supporting Fall Out Boy will be Cobra Starship, All Time Low, Metro Station and Hey Monday. Eight select markets (exact ones tba) will be on sale the weekend of Friday January 23rd; the remainder of the dates will be available for purchase beginning on January 31st. Sensitive to the economy, Fall Out Boy will price tickets competitively; in some markets they will be $25.00. Fall Out Boy –currently featured on the cover of the February issue of Blender magazine- just released their fourth full-length cd, FOLIE à DEUX, in December 2008. Full list of tour dates to follow.

In addition, Fall Out Boy has released their new iPhone App, which will allow fans to purchase tickets right from their iPhone. The app also continues to bring Fall Out Boy and their fans closer. With the GPS-aware functionality, fans can opt in to display their location and can share images and experiences from the shows every night as-it-happens with other fans all around the world.

Also, Fall Out Boy has been honored with the request from Matt Groening to record “The Simpsons” theme song. This will air during the January 25th episode on FOX.

“America’s Suitehearts” the current single from FOLIE à DEUX, has already made an impression. After premiering on The N and Yahoo Music on Jan 1, the video has now been added to all MTV platforms and Fuse. Also, it is currently airing in over 5,000 national movie theaters as well. The band will perform the song on Late Night With Conan O’Brien on Jan 21 and on Live With Regis and Kelly on Jan 22. The band is also performing in Tampa on January 29th at the Pepsi Smash, an official Super Bowl event. This will air live on VH1.

Prior to announcing ‘Believers Never Die Part Deux,’ Fall Out Boy performed intimate club shows in various cities, geared toward their fans. The shows were announced shortly before the dates, and fans dictated the set list. Markets included Los Angeles, San Diego, Boston, Philadelphia, and more. The arena tour brings them to larger venues this time around – giving fans an incredible amount of music as they join up with be Cobra Starship, All Time Low, Metro Station and Hey Monday.

Fall Out Boy have built up a loyal following through relentless touring; they have performed over 1200 shows since their inception in 2000. The band’s 2007 release Infinity On High debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart and was the follow-up to From Under The Cork Tree, their Island debut of May 2005, which spent 72 weeks on the Billboard 200 albums chart.

Hailing from Chicago, Fall Out Boy – Patrick Vaughn Stump (vocals/guitar), Pete Wentz (bass), Joe Troh­man (guitar), and Andy Hurley (drums) – have appeared on the covers of Rolling Stone, Spin, Blender, and Alternative Press and have performed on NBC’s Saturday Night Live, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, and Late Night with Conan O’Brien, CBS’s The Late Show with David Letterman, ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live, and more.
