HAYDN Keyboard CELEBRATION Begins January 25
New England Conservatory pianist Zenan Yu launches Sundays Live’s 10- part survey of Haydn Keyboard works, January 25th., performing Haydn: Sonata No.53 Hob.XVI/34, and Sonata No.62 Hob.XVI/52, together with Schumann’s Symphonic Etudes Opus 13.
These concerts feature selected New England Conservatory prize-winning students, and are presented concurrently with NEC’s own Haydn respective, curated by piano Chair Bruce Brubaker. The 10-part series, which celebrates the Haydn bicentennial, 1809-2009, culminates with Brubaker’s Los Angeles performance on the anniversary of Haydn’s passing, May 31st.
Upcoming 2009 Haydn concerts are February 22 with pianist Yue Chu and March 22 with pianist Qing Jiang.
These concerts are funded by a generous grant from the Ralph M. Parsons Foundation.
