It’s Sew Jo-Ann!
Prom Contest Offers Students the Opportunity to Win Cash and Prizes
When the perfect dress is just not on the rack, or the spectacular gown that you’ve imagined can’t be found, do what hundreds of high school students across the country did last year – make your own! Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores, the leading fabric and craft specialty retailer in America, has once again issued the challenge – create a handmade prom look and enter it into the Sew Jo-Ann Prom Contest.
"The 2008 Sew Jo-Ann Prom Contest demonstrated an outstanding level of talent and ability among young sewers across the country," said Michelle Christensen, Jo-Ann vice president, general merchandise manager. "Our hope is that this contest will continue to cultivate students’ creativity and help them achieve a one-of-a-kind prom look."
Once students have had the chance to showcase their unique prom garments to their classmates, they’ll have the opportunity to compete for great prizes. To enter, students fill out the entry form and submit two photos of their garment along with a Jo-Ann register receipt that shows the purchase of their fabric. Judging will be based on workmanship, originality and level of detail.
Prizes include:
