Shimmy Showcase Sunday

Shimmyshowcase has become the place to be in Long Beach on Sunday nights in 2009 as we had GREAT shows and wonderful audiences for the entire month of January. Saviya is getting February off to a great start with the always fun dancing of Saphira, Kalila and Gaea. Come to Coffee Haven and let the magic of their dance lift your spirits and offer your mind a respite from the anxiety of these troubled times.

February 8: Goddesses Unleashed with Alexiis! This is bound to be one of the most sumptuous, sizzling and sultry events of the winter season. Ravenmoon and Jessica will help Alexiis in presenting Freya, Canece, Parveneh, Tracey Farmer, Daliah Deva, Cynthia, Ba" El, and Dangeruz. Do NOT miss this spectacular show! You will regret it!

February 15: Abraiha brings you an evening of dazzling cabaret style belly dancing with May, Ana, Cayla, and Amar performing for you.

February 22: DARK (No Shimmyshowcase -- Belly Dancer of the Universe Competition)

March 1: Shimmyshowcase is honored to have Fernan Conan’s Middle Eastern Ensemble ANSUZ play for us once again. Coordinator Alexiis is putting together a fantastic program of American Tribal Style bellydance with Katerina, Sooz, Veronika, Mish'Ala, Amber, Estra, and Morgan. Mark your calendars and plan to join us at Coffee Haven for a great evening of music and dance entertainment!

March 8: Xandra is delighted that Yasmin, Devon, Brandy, Hade, and Jennelah will be performing on this evening. We have room for one more dancer, so if you’d like to join us, please send us an email at Shimmyshowcase@yahoogroups.com.

March 15: It’s party time again as Shimmyshowcase coordinator Saviya brings you a stellar cast of present and former coordinators – Alexiis, Katerina, Rebecca, Xandra joined by Sina, and Meryem Vani, to celebrate our 6th Anniversary. Have we really been going for six years? Be sure to come down to see your favorite dancers and join friends and fans for a fun evening of socializing and, of course, spectacular dancing.

March 22: Alexiis will be your coordinator for this first Sunday in Spring. She seeks the fey folk to join her on our magic carpet. Saahira, Sylvia, Saphira, Kalila, and Gaea will honor the living, growing excitement of the reawakening Gaia. March 29: Once again, Shimmyshowcase is proud to present LIVE music by ANSUZ. Coordinator Saviya leads another dazzling array of dancers including Marlena, Taji, and Kamar. This is lining up to be a spectacular show that you WON’T want to miss!

April 5: Can we be so lucky—TWO weeks in a row of live music at Shimmyshowcase! Our fabulous band ANSUZ will again be playing, and Xandra is looking for more great dancers to perform. Please email her at shimmyshowcase@yahoogroups.com if you’d like to perform to the wonderful music of Ansuz.

April 12—DARK (Happy Easter!)

April 19: Lights, Camera, ACTION! Shimmyshowcase goes to the movies as Saviya invites you to join her for an evening of film-inspired bellydancing. Dancers pick your inspiration—old, new, romantic, comedy, horror. We encourage you to demonstrate your most innovative moves set to your favorite movie musical score or theme song. Our multi-talented musician/dancer Ritchie has already signed up, and a few other dancers have expressed interest, so email us at shimmyshowcase@yahoogroups.com right away if you want to be part of this fun event.
