Kingsfall wins Mike Pinder's Bandwars and named Famecast Fenoms

2009 is quickly becoming the year of Kingsfall as the Dallas-based rockers have won back to back major titles in February alone.

On Friday, February 20th, Mike Pinder's Bandwars named Kingsfall the grand prize winner for Bandwars. As the grand prize winners, Kingsfall will get a personal phone consultation with Mike Pinder (Moody Blues), a 40 minute set at the Red Gorilla Music Fest in Austin, Texas, two days of studio time in a state of the art recording facility with a professional engineer, 1000 custom CD's pressed and packaged by Disc Makers and songwriting software by Tanager. Kingsfall will also be featured on the Best of BANDWARS CD, published by Renaissance Records and distributed through KOCH Entertainment (U.S. and on the web) and Renaissance Records’ Partners (worldwide).

A mere 24 hours later, Kingsfall garnered another win when they were named the 2009 FAMECAST FENOMS. During a month of intense competition in December 2008, Kingsfall defeated 2,434 other artists to win the FameCast Rock Stage Contest. They moved into the Winter Finals, where they competed against seventeen other monthly stage winners. After a week, the field was narrowed down to ten and then to the Top 5 for a final week of competition. The fans responded, voting day after day, and moments after the voting closed on Saturday, February 21st, Kingsfall was named the winner. A $20,000 check and a feature in the March edition of SPIN Magazine make the FameCast win another big one.

Lead singer Josh Dufrene summed up the amazing weekend of wins by saying, “It is amazing. We are honored and humbled that so many fans and industry people liked our music and helped us win.” Bassist Larry Leicht added, “People have just come out of the woodwork to support us. Both Bandwars and FameCast are giving us some really cool opportunities and it's going to be interesting to work with a producer (Bandwars) and be in SPIN Magazine.”

Kingsfall's drummer Daniel Lopez is “totally stoked” about all of it and believes that it's all about teamwork. He explained, “It's all incredible and humbling. We're four normal guys that come from completely different backgrounds. As a team, we're accomplishing great things. I believe that you are who you are because of the people in your life. Kingsfall is the same way because we couldn't be who we are without each other.”

Amazing, interesting, incredible and just the beginning. This is a band that is going places and they're getting there fast.

About.com's Kim Jones said, "Kingsfall is good - the kind of good that should have record labels fighting over them; the kind of good that took Switchfoot from being a popular band in San Diego to a household name all over the world."

Beliefnet.com's Joanne Brokaw agreed, naming Kingsfall one of the Artists to Watch in 2009.

Kingsfall … Bandwar winners and FAMECAST FENOMS. Who knows what the rest of the year will bring.

About Kingsfall:
When Joshua Dufrene (guitars/vocals), Devin Dean (guitars/vocals), Daniel Lopez (drums), and Larry Leicht (bass) came together in 2006 to form Kingsfall they all had one thing in common; they had all grown up in or around music for most of their lives. It soon became clear that they also had a common vision of taking their unique sound to the masses.

"We want to share positive moral values and ethics, impacting peoples lives and challenging their minds," Josh Dufrene says.

"It's important to us that we use our talents to spread a message of positive reinforcement and shed some light that there is hope to people in today's climate of brokenness," adds Daniel Lopez.
And sharing what people need from the stage or the studio is what these guys do best. They spread a message of hope with tenacity and aggressiveness. Their self titled debut CD is receiving airplay and rave reviews from industry leaders, critics, manufacturer's and fans alike.

Based in Dallas, this exciting and energetic band with their own distinct sound has been compared to Mutemath, Coldplay, Third Eye Blind and Switchfoot, who they opened up for this past year at Baylor University. Other national acts that they have shared the stage with are The Afters, Sugarcult, and Love-drug.
