Middle Eastern Music and Dance Camp offered in August

Middle Eastern Music and Dance Camp
Mendocino Woodlands
Aug. 16-23, 2009

Regardless of which speciality you hold in Middle Eastern Dance, one of the greatest parts of being involved in this ancient art is getting involved with the community. Many dancers now travel to the Middle East and North Africa to study the art form which this originated, and we know most of the time this is not possible for everyone.

The Middle Eastern Music and Dance Camp has a long tradition of high-quality teaching and research in Ethnomusicology, with unrivalled specialies in Middle Eastern music and dance traditions.. These programs enable students to benefit from a variety of master teaching methods offered in these fields, leading ultimately to encourage new generations to continue to study and perform the wonderful ancient tradition at its best. We encourage all artists to explore the beauty and history of Middle Eastern dance and music and we assure you that this is an experience that you must have!

By using classroom teaching the programs cater to students seeking to expand their knowledge in the area of Middle Eastern music and dance studies as well as providing ideal training for those wishing to proceed on a professional level. You will have the unique opportunity to enjoy as well as perform to live music.
