Blake Lewis releases new music video for upcoming album

Gearing up for the release of his forthcoming sophomore album Heartbreak on Vinyl, American Idol alum and beatboxer/singing sensation Blake Lewis will release the music video for his new single “Sad Song,” exclusively on MySpace.com on September 22nd, it was announced today. Also in support of the new release, due out October 6th via Tommy Boy Entertainment, Lewis will be performing several shows across the country.

The soon-to-be-released music video is shot as a 1940s film-noir style story about the end of a couple’s relationship, highlighted with some 40s-meets-80s style fashion and video editing. The female lead is played by Casey Carlson who was also an American Idol contestant in the recent season 8. Lewis’ much anticipated second album is an electronic/pop/dance production. He collaborated with a host of songwriters and producers including S*A*M & Sluggo (Fall Out Boy, Panic at the Disco), Dave Audé (Pussycat Dolls), Rodney Jerkins (Lady Gaga, Britney Spears), and Jean Baptiste (Will.I.Am, Black Eyed Peas) on an album that promises to be fresh and full of surprises.

Lewis made a name for himself as the unconventional and charming beat boxer who was selected as first runner up on season six of American Idol in 2007. His cover of Bon Jovi’s “You Give Love a Bad Name,” was the biggest selling download of the season on iTunes with over 190,000 downloads. His debut album Audio Day Dream hit the Billboard album charts at #10 and has since sold over 350,000 units to date. He created a unique persona for himself as not only a singer-songwriter, but DJ and beatboxer, drawing fans of all ages to his shows, which vary between musical performances and DJ sets.
