David Lynch’s new release FOX BAT STRATEGY: A TRIBUTE TO DAVE JAUREQUI features a cast of musicians who began collaborating with the artist surrounding the filming of Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me. The same line-up of players appeared on Fire Walk With Me's two roadhouse cuts: "The Pink Room" and "Blue Frank" (as well as made cameos in the film itself).
In 1994, these same musicians, with an invitation from Lynch, re-entered the studio for an experimental collaboration which became FOX BAT STRATEGY. For nearly fifteen years these songs have remained unreleased and unheard, slow-cooking in the ether of time, all the while retaining a uniquely modern sensibility.
FOX BAT STRATEGY: A TRIBUTE TO DAVE JAUREQUI is dedicated to the album's late singer and guitarist Dave Jaurequi, who passed away suddenly in 2006. This 7-song collection is available now from David Lynch Music Company at all retail outlets, including Amazon.com, for a suggested list price of $12.98 (physical) and $6.99 (digital).
In A History of Fox Bat Strategy, drummer Steve Hodges recounts the making of the David Lynch produced FOX BAT STRATEGY: A TRIBUTE TO DAVE JAUREQUI. Hodges narrates the 12 minute short which includes anecdotes from Lynch himself. A History of Fox Bat Strategy will debut on Tuesday, October 13 only at Pitchfork.tv.
