Steven Casper releases new EP in the U.S.

Steven Casper announces the release of his 4 song EP, Topanga Ranch Motel. Recorded at Fourth Street Recording, Santa Monica, CA and mastered at Muscletone Village Studio, West Los Angeles, CA , the album is being released on the Silent City Records label. The album was previously released in Europe and is now making it’s U.S. debut.

Steven Casper is a Los Angeles based singer and songwriter who, with his band, Cowboy Angst set out to make a record based in the roots oriented music of his early days while keeping a strong influence of rock and roll. The country of Hank Williams and Bob Wills, the gospel folk of Lead belly and Mahalia Jackson, the rock of Delaney and Bonnie and Neil Young all have left their governing mark. The album is a terrific example of what seasoned players can do.

Casper’s voice is strong and steady (and oft compared to Gary Louris) with the rhythm section serving as a perfect backdrop, while the tension between the violin and guitar add just the right note to the music.

Music Connection Magazine describes Topanga Ranch Motel perfectly when they write: "If country music originated in the Allman Brother's backyard, this is what it would sound like. Steven Casper & Cowboy Angst take liberties with both country music and Southern rock, but they do so in the best possible way."

Topanga Ranch Motel was produced by Ira Ingber with additional production by Ross Levinson.

The core of the band includes; Steven Casper - Lead vocals and guitar, Glen Lynskey - Lead Guitar, Ross Levinson - Violin, vocals, Herb Deitelbaum - Bass guitar and vocals and Jay Nowac – Drums.

The four tracks on the EP are:
1. Through With You
2. Takes Me Back
3. I Want To Know
4. Down Home Girl
