The Strokes' bassist Nikolai Fraiture releases solo video

Nickel Eye, the solo effort from The Strokes’ bassist Nikolai Fraiture, unleashes his brand new video “You and Everyone Else”. Director Roman Cortez cleverly illustrates an online video chat session and uses Nickel Eye’s message and song as the driving force to unite this social networking community. The video exclusively premiered on Stereogum yesterday and is the latest single off of Nickel Eye’s buzz worthy debut The Time of The Assassins (Rykodisc, Jan 2009).

The highly praised album was written and produced by Nickel Eye and features guest appearances by Nick Zinner of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Regina Spektor. Nickel Eye also teamed up with esteemed producer Mark Ronson to remix "Brandy Of The Damned", which features hip hop sensation Wale.

Rolling Stone says “Assassins combines groove and melody with the same machinelike precision that sets Fraiture’s other outfit apart” and Spin.com claims that “Fraiture's songwriting chops surface as he recalls childhood memories to a head-bobbing melody.”
